Prism -lets split web applications run directly on their desktop
Prism (formerly WebRunner) can integrate the web application like Gmail into desktop without the normal web browser.And it has becomed a Mozilla Lab project now.
WebRunner enables users to run web applications directly on their desktop as the same as the typical desktop applications.
Compared with the normal Web browser, It has no menu, toolbars, but only accoutrements of minimal UI.
Additionally, WebRunner has a tight integration with the OS and desktop. In detail, those basic functions are supported:
Create a shortcut to start the webapp;
- Launch the webapp similar to the original desktop app;
- Performance as a separate process;
- Ability to run on cross-platform.
