TrueCrypt – Encrypt entire hard drive
TrueCrypt 5.1a released, the software can encrypt an entire hard disk, system or non-system drive or storage device, such as USB flash drive.
Create an encrypted volume within a non-system partition or drive
Formats and encrypts a non-system partition, entire expansion partition or the second hard drive, and USB flash drive, etc.
Encrypt a system partition or entire system drive
Anyone who wants to access and use the encrypted system, read and write files stored on the system drive, etc., will need to input the correct password each time before Windows boots.
Moreover, TrueCrypt will prompt you to create an emergency rescue disk and resume after authenticating this action. Then after machine reboots, TrueCrypt will start to encrypt in state. It’ll be some time to finish depending on the volume of drive.
While USB flash drive is encrypted, drive symbol appears, but the documents stored on the drive will be hidden unless mounted in TrueCrypt.
